Swords and sorcery. Myths and monsters. Demons and dragons. From my first time reading through The Hobbit to my most recent adventures in Dungeons and Dragons, I’ve always held a deep appreciation for the fantastic and whimsical, which I seek to recreate in my work. I want my work to instill in my audience the same sense of mysticism and wonder I felt reading comics and playing games growing up.
My practice is digital, and not just for convenience. I love the polish and flexibility technology provides. Whether I decide to follow a simple and clean comic style or a classically epic painted aesthetic, it’s a simple matter to go back and adjust and tweak and fiddle until I’m satisfied. It may be a slow process, but if I want to change a color or nudge my composition halfway through an illustration, I can do so fairly easily. The image constantly evolves; my practice constantly changes.
